2012 Memorial Day

Today is the 22nd Anniversary of our moving out to the country to this house. That was long ago, Memorial Day weekend of 1990. What a whirlwind of manual labor and work even with the U-Haul Truck and flat bed trailer, it was three days of loading and hauling furniture and boxes out of the old house and into the new.

Twenty two years ago we brought in the last load late that Monday night. The last to join us in their 100 gallon aquarium were our turtles Natalie and Jeremy, a couple of Red Eared Sliders. Then it was time to reassemble the bed and get some rest before the new work week began the next morning back at our office jobs.

So many things remained unfinished inside the house. The wallpaper in the dining room was Manville insulation. But we were in the house. And here we are today.

Our puppies from long ago: Buckwheat Jones on the left, Lady Bug the blond one in the middle, and Slick E. Mann on the right. Lady came to us on Mother's Day and stayed on the grounds until we moved in. Buckwheat was twelve and young Slick came to us as a youngster. The kids.
